What is the best route without taking I 90? If you suggest I 90, what is the toll for a 38 ft fifth wheel from I 495 to I 84? Thanks,

- Well, now having problem obtaining a one night stay in E. New York. How is route 2 across northern Massachusetts? We are attempting to get to I 81 south with one night stay before I 81. Thanks,
- US20 (Boston Post Road) is fine. Pretty much parallels the Pike. Ran that way back in the day when I was broke and couldn't afford tolls. Used to be a big truck route.
- We are not yet at Minuteman but will be in September. Just looking for directions as we work our way south after touring New England. Thanks
- Take I290 to Auburn and then 20 to Sturbridge. 4 lane and on toll.
- OK. I'm guessing you might be at Boston Minuteman Campground. If so take left out of the campground and when you come to the rotary, take the exit for Route 2. Take 2 west to 190. Follow 190 to 290 to the Pike west. You are now only one exit from 84 - no matter what you are driving, toll will be under $2.00, probably closer to $1.00. Trust me, you don't want to deal with alternatives. We live right off the 290/Mass Pike exit. If you are not at Minuteman, just find route 2 and go west to 190.
