Take the Throggs (Throgs)Neck Bridge(I prefer 2 G's btw, as I was raised in Throggs Neck)to 95 North, to 287 west, to 87 North to the Northway past Albany. There are Rest Areas along the way on 87 that you can fuel up in with no problem.

I've been towing a RV every year from Long Island to Lake George since 1980. This is the easiest and shortest route.
