Long Island To Lake George Route?

I know I asked this question before but I can't find my post. :-(

We are going to take two campers from Long Island up to the Lake George RV Park. Our checkin date is a Saturday.

Any suggestions on what would be the best route to take there? We've got two 1/2 ton trucks and a 28" and a 26" camper. I'm going to assume that we'd need to get some gas on the way up too. Any suggestions on a good place to stop for gas on the way? This will be our first time taking the campers off Long Island so we're just concerned about finding gas stations and such that can accommodate us with the campers.

Without Question take the Ferry from Orient Point.......Trust me your anxiety level will be reduced by 80%.....

Oh, I'm also looking for ideas on what to do up there as it will be our first trip. There will be my parents in the mid 60's, my brother and sister-in-law about 40 and their two boys 7 and 5. Then there's me age 34.

We'll be bringing our bikes and I plan to do some geocaching. Anything else that we might do up there? Any good restaurants?
