Los Mochis RV Park and Navojoa

Just paid 350p for one night. A lot for so little, but it beat driving from Mazatlan to San Carlos.

Young man said it has been sold and he doesn't know the future plans, but he won't be working here much longer.

Is Navojoa still open??

  • Las Glorias near Guasave is apparently open, at least I hope it is, I am taking a caravan in there next week. A bit off the road. There is also a balaneario just south of Culliacan off the free road near Costa Rica that has RV sites.
  • We stayed at La Pilarica (Pemex) at Los Mochis. No problems, relatively quiet, parked next to 4 other RVs. Normally we would drive straight through but lost 4 hours just south of Los Mochis when we broke the serpentine belt!
  • We stayed at the rooster park on the 16th, and the "owner"? (an older guy) said it had been sold and would close on April 1st. Looks like with two CPAPs and an 02 generator, we will be either biting the bullet and driving from Maz to Guaymas, or stopping at Huatabampito.
  • When going up that way we were either forced to stay in a Pemex or we would go up to Alamos and spend a day. The Pemex about 4 miles south of Los Mochis is a very good stop but a couple years ago they put up dividers in the highway so you can't get there from northbound unless you make a retorno - we find the other truckstops around Los Mochis to be kind of noisy but they are an option. We haven't been to Alamos in a few years but we went up there at least a couple times and found it worth the trip - I forget but think it is maybe 20 - 25 miles from Navajoa. We did stop in Navajoa once - it is the pits - and not really an RV park anymore - construction equipment in various stages of dis-assembly everywhere - trees all overgrown so you can't get into very narrow spaces without rubbing on branches. We also stayed in Los Mochis once but it was also the pits. We really really want to support RV parks so they will stay open but if they just take the money and do nothing to keep them up then it is on them.

The last few years we have been skipping MX15 and going over to Laredo and down from there - but we are not beachies. The roads down from Laredo are in much better shape.
  • Yes, but it was off of the road, a place to stay and many spaces had real 30 amp service.

The run from Mazatlan to San Carlos is brutal, and we are traveling with a new puppy.
  • Navajoa was closed years ago. Well it was sort of open but you shared the park with junk and old construction eqpt. Dirty hole!
