Canadian Tire and a number of independent centres across Canada have been authorized to perform RIV inspections
Although it says "a number of independent centres", I couldn't find one single option where anything other than Canadian Tire came up as an option, even in major cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I went through an RIV with a Jetski trailer I imported a number of years back, I wish I had had another option, but ended up at Canadian Tire given no other option.
Anyhow, I'd love to go back to the Canadian Tire in question with an RIV inspection with a trailer factory equipped with LT's. The service advisor who told me it was illegal, and the other guy who said it was dangerous and such would have to eat crow.
