There isn't a lot of general parking in Whittier, if you drive the full rig through the tunnel you can either park in the large parking lot used for boats and trailers or there is a small campground right next to this lot. There are also some nice camping spots in the campgrounds along Portage Glacier road on your way to the tunnel, then you can just drive your towed through. Something to think about is that you are charged by the length and width of your vehicle to drive through the tunnel. It gets expensive fast, but the return trip is free :D
