In California, the toll for most of the Bridges around the SF Bay is $5 per two axle vehicle. But a 4 axle combination is $20. So if I tow my toad across a bridge with my 2 axel motorhome, it cost me $20. If I pull over and disconnect and I drive the motorhome and the wife drives the toad, it only costs $10 for both. I keep saying I'm going to pull over and disconnect and then I never do and I pay the $20!
In KS we have the Kansas turnpike authority. They originally put in the toll highway with a 30 year payoff, guess what at the end of 30 years Kansas did not have the funds to maintain the road so it stays in control of the KTA. Forgot to add they will be eliminating the toll collectors and using pike pass and plate cameras. Add a fee increase to the mix.
