500 cc & under are added as an accessory onto your car permit and do not need an additional permit.
However
They do need a license plate and lights to be legal on a public roadway. Same goes for wearing a helmet. Xerox a copy of your car permit. Carry it with you. You need state issued proof of ownership at the border in order to get it added on as an accessory.
Sad to say thievery of that size bike is rampant down here. Even in small towns. Use wisdom.
