One caveat to visiting the Black Hills area .......... of course, depending on your interests .......... the Sturgis Bike Rally is August 8th - 14th this year, expect THOUSANDS of motorcycles, coming in from every corner of the country, from the week before through the week after. For many, it is a destination and a highlight of their journeys. My preference is to go ANY OTHER time of the year. Even living in Minnesota, that week there are waves of motocycles traveling across headed for South Dakota.
