- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe went thru Birmingham on I-65 and didn't find it to be a problem at all. Maybe we drive slower so don't have a problem? Don't know....
- AlabamaTravelerExplorerIf you are going toward Tuscaloosa, you might want to stop for a nite or two at Tannehill State Historical Park. It is at exit 100 on I20. If you have never been there, and have any interest in Civil War history, this is the place to visit. Happy camping.........
- TECMikeExplorerThanks, Folks. Really appreciate your comments!
- car2900ExplorerI-65 from Nashville to Birmingham is "mostly" a very good smooth road.
EXCEPTa little North of Birmingham, through Birmingham, and South of the city, approximately a 15 mile stretch. The surface is a concrete divided surface and it is rough. Pulling a fifth wheel or trailer you better hold on with both hands. Once you get a few miles South of the city on I-65 it is smooth sailing all the way toward Montgomery. - Johno02ExplorerOk except if you decide to go downtown in Birmingham. Its all bad there. i65 over to i20 is good to Tuscaloosa.
- bvaughn4Explorer20/59 to Tuscaloosa is a good road. Resurfaced about 2 yrs ago.
- TPUCExplorerI-65 is fine
