Hi Bill,
It is possible to do the entire trip without going on the QEW but the area along the Burlington Beach strip under the Skyway is quite confusing if you do not know your way around. The route I am suggesting puts you on the Q.E.W. for that short portion of the trip.
So here is how I would do it;
Take Hurontario Street/ County Road 124 to Hwy. 89, just east of Shelburne
Turn left (East) on Hwy 89/10 to Hwy 10
Turn right (South) on Hwy 10 to Caledon
Turn right (West) on Wellington County Road 124 to Wellington County Road 125
Turn left (South) on Wellington County Road 125 to Campbelville Road
Turn right (West) on Campbelville Road to Guelph Line
Turn left (South) on Guelph Line
There is no easy way around the cities of Burlington and Hamilton without either going through the built up areas or going miles out of your way, so……...
Take Guelph Line all the way to Lakeshore Rd.
Turn right (West) on Lakeshore Road to the Q.E.W. Niagara on ramp
Take the Q.E.W. over the Burlington Skyway to the Centennial Parkway (Hwy 20) exit
Turn right (South) on Centennial Parkway
Take Centennial Parkway/Regional Road 20 to Elfrida
Turn left (East) at Elfrida to stay on Regional Road 20
Stay on Regional Road 20 to the KOA
This may seem quite convoluted but it is reasonably direct. Most of the county or regional roads are former provincial highways and are in decent condition as far as I know.
NOTE - you can not travel Westbound on Lakeshore Road from Guelph Line to Brant Street at the current time. It is closed for watermain construction. The detour route is not the best for a MH.
And to think I sent him this way to avoid the construction mess on the QEW between Guelph Line and the 403 split! Burlington will be a nice city if they ever get it finished.
I heard it will never be finished,, the people 2 roads back are complaining about the people with lakefront taking all the water front, so they are going to tear it all down and start over and create more water front property so all the rich folk can have a waterfront property, the poe folk will be relocated to the west side of the QEW and gates will be errected at each overpass to restrict access to cleaners landscrapers and nannies only from the poe folk side.
