Go to WalMart and buy a road atlas. Get out a colorful highlighter and map out your whole planned route. Then figure how many miles are there from your beginning to your first stop. Then figure how many miles you want to drive a day. If it's interstate then 300 miles would be tops for us. However, we love traveling the slower two-lane highways which gives us more scenic views. We'll drive approx. 200 miles tops, sometimes less. By doing this you find out if you want to stop a night inbetween your next major longer stop. Then do the same from your first major stop to your next major stop. Just plan this out for short chunks of your trip. Don't try to do the whole trip at once. You'll get the hang of it! Have fun...planning is addictive and is part of the fun.
