I do not recommend it for rv's (and am far from alone on that!) and particularly for not experienced mountain drivers. If you choose to go that way we can give you good alternates. Won't go into details unless you are planning to go that way.
Being a newbie I would also caution and putting in lots of miles and driving into late at night; it is a different driving and you most likely will tire more easily.
This is good advice that you don't drive the Million Dollar Highway in your 30ft Class A. You can stay in Ouray or Ridgeway and rent a Jeep to drive it, then when you get ready to leave go to Telluride and take 145 south to Cortez.
San Juan Skyway. It is very doable.
