Any one had crossing from Canada back to USA? Is a USA Passport still good, or is Nexus required>

The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelers expedited processing when entering the United States and Canada. Program members use dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air and Global Entry kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports. NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations.

We were there in late September and used USA passport with no problems.

We do this a lot as DW has family in Canada. A Nexus makes no difference. Not everyplace has the dedicated lanes for them. Detroit may have only one open. The last time through, we were held up an additional hour at Detroit Ambassador Bridge and I am quite sure it is because I am a published vocal critic of the administration. But, Detroit has always been a terrible entry point. In recent times it has gotten worse. Matt

At the Peace Arch border crossing in Blaine, WA those with Nexus passes go through *much* quicker. There are dedicated Nexus lanes to and from the USA. Most people we know who have friends and family in Canada, or who shop there frequently, have a Nexus pass. But probably not worth it just for an occasional trip in your RV. Your passport or enhanced driver's license (available in some border states) is required.

I crossed the US/CN border northbound at Sweetgrass, MT. on my way to Alaska. I had a passport, so it didn't take long. Only one question - "Have you ever been fingerprinted?". I thought for a couple of seconds and finally said "Maybe when I joined the Navy?" What a bozo I was. My fingerprints were on my passport that he was holding in is hand. A trick question. Crossing the border into and out of Alaska and back into the U.S. I barely had to slow down. I was just waved through. I figured it out later. Ohio license plates were on the front and rear of my RV.
