I-84 to I-81 to US-15 is the route I would pick.
As stated RVs are not allowed on 15.
I90-I84-I684-I287-I78-I81 through Harrisburg to I83 and follow route signs from there. Have done it numerous times. 84 can be a little tough to navigate through Hartford (keep your eye out for signage) and there will be traffic especially around Danbury and Waterbury but it's not really a big deal. Stop at Cabela's in Hamburg PA on the way by. When you come back please be aware that 684 comes up a bit suddenly. Again, pay attention to signage.
