BUT - just north of Sandpoint take route 200 eastward around the gorguos lake and then follows the Clark Fork River to eventually join 93 several miles north of Missoula. A pretty and relaxing route that we have also taken many times. If you need a good campground try Sam Owen CG (USFS) just east of Hope!
