The exit at Houghton Rd. is under construction (construction of a 6 lane bridge) and the westbound off-ramp is closed as is the eastbound on-ramp. The next off-ramp is Rita Rd and it is closed southbound for bridge repairs. Only good route is to get off at Rita and go north through the neighborhood and loop around to south-bound Houghton to cross I-10 ta gain access to the fairgrounds.
We always take detour around Phoenix. Going east-I 10 to Buckeye, Az.-85 to Gila Bend-I 8 to I 10. Really easy, relaxing drive. Our daughter and family live in Vail, Az. S. of Tucson. If you need cheap place to overnight in that area-Good Sam-Pima County Fairground Rv Park just off I 10 and we always stay overnight in Quartzsite, Az at-Good Sam-Holiday Palms.
Also, you can now bypass most of Phoenix by taking the 202 Loop west at the casino and it ties into I-10 well west of downtown Phoenix.
