overnight west of Tulsa

It's Red Rock Canyon State Park just south of Hinton. It was a favorite place for wagon trains to stop off - it's cool and there's a creek that comes through the canyon that is beautiful...mid to late summer kites are flying all around and used to the humans teaching the young ones to fly. We trekked there outside OKC (where we live) too test our new travel trailer and loved it. Here's a blog about our visit there with pictures. Call ahead, they have 4 full service spots, but a lot of places with just electricity & sewers - and public restrooms that are fine - clean but old.
