I have none. Yet.
Is this a different issue then? Not at Nogales obviously but others at northern borders
It's happened again. This time at the Laredo, Texas crossing. Something deeper is going on here.
Caravanas de Mexico RV Tours has hired a trio of lawyers who will be persuing this issue, presumably with SAT who issues the regulations to start with, starting in a few days. I will keep everybody updated as soon as I know anything. Until then, I highly recommend anyone crossing with a pickup use the Nogales, Az crossing which so far has no reports of this happening. It appears to be happening at all the Texas crossings. If you have to use a Texas crossing, I recommend going to a commercial scale and having your truck weighed (empty) so you have at least one additonal piece of paperwork. Try to get htmeto add your VIN number as well as plate number. If you have records of your previous crossings, take those. If you do not, you can probably obtain them at this link:

This happened to us at the border (Nuevo Laredo) yesterday. We were finally given a waiver after showing that the truck had been imported before ( 3 times). They did use the fully loaded weight ( though we were not towing nor bringing in any cargo) to determine this. The guy behind us in line gave the aduana $20 and got his waiver, just FYI. There was a family there - five kids, grandma, mom and dad - who were being put through the wringer over the weight of their SUV. This is idiotic - does Mexico intend to hurt tourism from the USA and Canada? The agents were rude and unhelpful - never experienced this in NL before.
Also another report here (I think) of refusal at La Paz
