How is the drive through Provo on 189 from Heber City to I-15?
It looks like 189 goes right through the city and I'm wondering if we would have any problems in Provo.
We are driving a 38' motorhome and towing an SUV.
Thank you.
Provo Canyon was no problem at all except for the roadwork which just slows you down. However we chose not to go thru the city. Once down the canyon we turned right on hwy 52 (800N) to the 15 fwy. This worked out real well. We were only on hwy 52 for about 4 miles. We have gone thru the city before in the MH and that is why we changed courses. Travel safe.

Thank you. - JANETRUPPExplorerThanks all. We will do the Canyon
- Searching_UtExplorerAs mentioned, should you try and go I80 you have a fairly long hard pull out of Heber, then a downhill on a road with more than it's fair share of idiot drivers. Coming down through Provo Canyon is generally a much nicer drive, and definitely not as steep. That said, either one are major roads used every day by numerous RV's Semi trucks and anything else you can imagine.
- boogie_4wheelExplorerGoing via the 80 from Heber is nothing more than a huge increase in elevation followed by a huge decrease in elevation.
Take the Provo Canyon route unless you like pulling steep hills. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIIt is a beautiful scenic drive following the Provo River thru Provo Canyon.
Check out Bridal Veil Falls - 2oldmanExplorer IILooks fine on google maps. Some parts look more like a freeway.
