Puerto Penasco RV Painting Services

I have traveled in Mexico several times but not in Puerto Penasco. I have noticed that sometimes I'll see RV's being painted while in the RV parks. I'd like information about these kinds of services in Puerto Penasco. Good ones, best ever, never use again .... park doesn't allow activity ... Any tips, recent costs ... Thanks ahead of time.
  • I know that there are a lot of repairers and painters in Puerto Penasco. I don't know how it is handled in all of the parks here but I know 1 in particular has approved vendors and everyone that uses them are happy and that is at the Reef RV Park. It is a huge park and there is plenty of room for multiple jobs to be going on at once without impacting anyone else. I was just there yesterday and noticed at least 3 rigs having paint repairs done while they are here on vacation. I don't know of any off site repair shops that cater to RV's because of the space required but I will check around.
  • Yes Navarros is a great place. Have had an RV painted there and repairs to two cars.
They do not have an "oven" but they do have a paint booth. They use the grade paint you ask for (pay for) the cheaper the price you might get Mexican Dupont paint. The best is RM paints and they do use that for the best paint job you can get there.
I just spoke with Enrique about a week ago they are gonna paint a classic car for me.
I have their Mexican and Arizona numbers if yo need them.
  • Be aware that any painting done in the great outdoors is not likely to last. It all depends what type of job you expect. If a 6/10 is OK then go for it. If you expect a 9/10 forget it. There is a shop in Los Algadones, Mexico. Just outside of Yuma. Navarro Brothers. Thousands of RV'r s have had paint jobs done by these pros. They are on Facebook and carry a USA cell. All paint is from the USA. They hand sand the whole coach and have an oven. There is also an upholstery shop on site I have seen the results and I would not hesitate to have repairs done by them. A full body paint will not be comparable to one of the $15,000+ jobs done in the USA. But it also would cost a lot less. Keep in mind that even in the USA there are only a handful of shops that can do a factory equivalent paint job.

  • We had a full paint job with fabulous prep work done in Mazatlan. It still looked terrific 8 years later when we sold the rig. Yes, it was done outdoors.
  • Sherwin Williams makes high VOM paints that are prohibited in the US. However, S&W continues to sell them internationally. The painters in San Carlos used S&W paints. The paints are high quality and dry quickly.
  • Dirtboat,
Just left Puerto Penasco last week. Been staying at the Reef Rv. You can get painting done at the Playa Bonita Rv park and others, but I only know about the Reef. I'v known Jesus and Carlos, father and son painters at the Reef for about 10 or 11 years. They are honest, hard working painters. You can negotiate a fair price from them and they require half of the agreed price up front and the rest upon completion. In 2010 I had a Monaco Dipl 40 ft with 3 slides. Jesus and Carlos painted my rv. They did an excellent job. They started basic prep work at my rv site and then moved to a more secluded spot to finish painting and gloss work. I had my towed vehicle (2004 Envoy) painted the next year. Again a fair price and good job. 5 years later, we downsized and sold my Class A. Th new owner commented on how good the paint job was. I will use Jesus and Carlos in the near future as my trailer decals start to go bad. Can't comment on price because every job and requirement is different on what you want done. My rv took about 4 days to complete. My SUV took about 2 days.

As of last year, Jesus and Carlos have a designated spot in the park to paint rvs. If you go, the two are easy to find or Gus at the front desk can help you out.

So finally, would I recommend them? Yes. Do they do a good job? Yes. Do they work out in the open? Yes. I saw no bad problems from painting out in the open. Was their work perfect? No but its hard to spot imperfections and my old rv still had a great paint job when I sold it, five years after it was painted.
    Hope this helps
