Why carry a gun unless going on a hunting trip? If one cannot follow Canadian gun laws the I guess there will be no driving through Canada. The Authorities could not care less how responsible you claim to be. Millions travel through Canada & into Alaska every year without guns. No issues.
As far as carrying the bike goes, you might want to consider leaving some of your toys at home. Alaska is a land of quiet touring bikes which do not scare animals away for miles around. BMWs & other such cross touring bikes are the common sight. A noisy Harley is a rare & very unpopular sight with those who are here to enjoy the stunning scenery & get a glimpse of wildlife.
You've discovered the very reason some Americans ride American made bikes...the noise keeps animals off the road and alerts other motorists to our presence. Might as well ride safer as well as look good on American iron:)
