Chicago-based coffee roaster and chain Bow Truss has filed a lawsuit against Marcus Lemonis, CEO of the Good Sam Club and Camping World. According to the suit, Lemonis’ company, ML Food Group, “devised a fraudulent scheme to attempt to purchase the plaintiff at a rock bottom bargain basement giveaway price and failing to accomplish that to destroy the plaintiff.” — SOURCE: Chicago Tribune

Yah thats what I get as well. This is an international forum but it is pretty clear it is a free for all for some Americans to insult or degrade anyone from anywhere that is not the USA. Turn that around and its game over. I hang around because there is pertinent information out there that we use in our RV lifestyle but its getting kinda thin.

I just don't see this in any significant form here. To be fair there are more than a few disparaging remarks by our Canadian Friends about the US in the Mexico Forum about our poverty, that we were to blame for their currency being down etc. And I have seen some who think Mexico is dangerous but other than a very few I just don't see what you contend.

I've been following this as well. Very interesting. The best part is that Mr. Lemonis has his show telling everyone how to run a successful business but when it comes to his own, well . . . the proof is in the pudding.

Last Saturday we were reading the weekly rvtravel.com newsletter and saw this item......

"The latest salvo in the ongoing legal war between Camping World kingpin Marcus Lemonis and Gigi Stetler, an independent RV dealer, was fired by Lemonis. Stetler’s attorneys have been attempting to get Lemonis in for a deposition since last April in a case filed against Camping World and others. A court order mandated Lemonis to appear, and as we reported last week, the deposition was set for January 27. Lemonis has now filed a protective order to escape the deposition, claiming Stetler’s attorneys were in error when they asked the court to order the appearance. Source rvdailyreport.com."


I don't know anything about this but I think everyone knows Mr. Lemonis runs about half of the RV world these days - Camping World - Good Sam - Magazines - who knows what all. This forum is actually accessed by/from about 6 different website - rv.net - trailerlife - goodsam - woodalls - motorhome - and maybe others as I recall (coasttocoast?). If you look at the top of the main page you may see a listing called "Dear Marcus" where you can supposedly write to him. I have written but seriously doubt he really has time to read emails from we readers. I did get a response to my email but it made no sense. Anyway - as someone else eluded to - this is all part of a big corporate megalopolis. They can and will do as they please with their website. Each one of the addresses below will take you to the exact same place - right here on the Mexico forum.........

I agree with much of your post especially the part about those that answer a question with "use the search engine" and it has to be one of the worst search engines and dictionaries I have ever seen on any forum anywhere. You often get new information and new insights by asking the same question over or in a new way.

But I disagree with the notion that this forum belongs solely to GSE. Those of us who are customers of any part of the Good Sam conglomerate of companies PAY for this forum with our business.

Like the brick and mortar stores it only exists because of the income generated from customers. Now while we cannot manage or run the stores similarly we cannot manage the Forum. However we should have the right to complain about the forum as we would about the service or prices. or parking in any of the stores.

In effect this IS the members site. We do have an ownership interest in it and a sense of belonging comes with that. GS should acknowledge this for without it's customers it's stores do not exist and without it members this site does not exist.

And as for this being some great benefit bestowed on us by a munificent and benevolent Good Sam Corp. This forum exist because it serves their purposes to have it. It allows them to corral and deal with customer complaints and keep them off other areas of the web and other rating sites. It gives them an insight into customer relations and trends. And it gives them a very cheap way to deal with customer problems.

It is certainly within the realm of the possible and even the easily feasible for the site (GS) to acknowledge our participation, financial contributions and reevaluate it's operation and policies concerning this site.
