- zcookiemonstarExplorerFirst thing I always check is the photo thread sticky. I like seeing any new pics so I'm glad it is on top.

I agree. 7 whole stickies. And they're gone with one spin of the mouse wheel. Plus they are only on the first page. How lazy are some getting? :R - rwiegandExplorerIt would be good to reduce the number to 2-3 at most by eliminating the seldom used sticky's and consolidating the FAQ-like ones into a single FAQ. On a small screen the current sticky's and enormous rv.net header completely fill the screen.

Money is typically a driving factor in getting updates done and from the sounds of things there's not much available.
Obviously you have never been through a forum update before. It's not pretty.
If you modify so much as an accent color, the "I DON'T LIKE CHANGE" horde attacks with prejudice.
I also participate in a farm tractor forum where they still have their old-fashioned, text-based bulletin board just to keep the "I DON'T LIKE CHANGE" crowd happy. They tried a modern forum system and it was vehemently rejected with threats of violence. As a compromise, they came up with a way to mirror the posts from the old system to the new system and back.
Yes, I have been through a forum update before. Not this one. But I have admin'd/moderated other forum software for other people/clubs.
In my case, I hosted it all for free and the club (until recently) didn't pay a dime for my time. When there was change I would post what it was, when it would be, asking for input etc etc. There are several types of people on forums like these: The ones you just described (I don't like change, why are you doing this, I hate you/my life) and the ones who just don't care enough or have time enough to voice their opinion. There is a third "party" that's in the middle and they do try to support and help everyone, but they're in short supply imho.
I am not referring to this forum, I haven't been here all that long to discern the types of people.
But yep, I have been around enough on the Internet to know the various types of people. And in some cases - given the number of people who may not be "technical" it might make sense not to change. - mkirschNomad II

Ghostery block advertising and trackers. Cleans up the forum experience quite nicely.
And blocks a ton of trackers on many other sites. - trailgranny50ExplorerMust be the slow season having to fuss over "sticky threads" sounds like a sewing issue. Maybe just stick to our own knitting? Geeze this is a fun forum sometimes.
- jimh406Explorer IIIWhile we are at it ... joking ... let's fix the layout so that there isn't so much empty space at the top. Oh wait, that's probably supposed to be ads.
Curiously, I've got used to ignoring the stickies, so they really don't bother me. - GerritMaxwellExplorerLolololool... @bighatnohorse
I would gladly donate a cord of wood to not see them(Stickys) go away or in my neck of the woods $11 bucks. If we get that times 3 x that we would be at $33 bucks for 15 minutes, which means the person that gets rid of "stickies" will make $132 bucks an hour.....
Tongue in cheap, like a buck speared by a XLT Venom bow........ just sayin... - bighatnohorseExplorer IIBradW did just what is asked. He (or somebody) created THE MORE TRUCK CAMPER INFO !!! page.
And that's where all these "above the fold" stickies belong imho.
It's not hard and only takes maybe fifteen minutes to put it together.
One has to remember that rv.net is not a "TC Club" and is a commercial enterprise.
As readers, we don't have a webmaster.
For example, it took just a few minutes to put this page together:
RV.Net "Stickies"
If Redog or someone wants the page code I can send it in a text file?
The requests should be fairly easy and cost free.
