If you modify so much as an accent color, the "I DON'T LIKE CHANGE" horde attacks with prejudice.
I also participate in a farm tractor forum where they still have their old-fashioned, text-based bulletin board just to keep the "I DON'T LIKE CHANGE" crowd happy. They tried a modern forum system and it was vehemently rejected with threats of violence. As a compromise, they came up with a way to mirror the posts from the old system to the new system and back.
