Red Bluff to Ancient Redwoods RV park in Recrest
The most direct route is hwy 36, but I being advised to take a longer route and use hwy 299. Anybody have any actual experience with theses roads? On the maps 299 doesn't look any better. TIA!

Just be advised that there are 4 mountain passes to get over, all are about 4500 feet, no big deal except the west side of Oregon Mountain which is a steep decent, but go slow and no problem. Be sure to stop at the Straw House in Big Flat for lunch. If your coming up 5 from the south consider 20 at Williams across Lake County then north on 101.
