In reading the email Chris posted I can find no wording to indicate what type of vehicle this refers to. Nothing says specifically a pickup. It just says any vehicle weighing more than 7,716 lbs. Can anyone explain what this means? Perhaps the RV park owners in Mexico as well a caravan companies and just plain old RVers need to start talking to whoever thought up some of these laws and explain to them that a great many vehicles wanting to visit Mexico are going to exceed this weight. It is quite obvious that pickups that pull trailers and 5th wheels could easily need to be rated at higher weight limits to be able to pull their RVs. And of course pickup campers will need to be rated for higher weights. And the way this email is worded they seem to be saying any vehicle over this weight will be excluded from entering Mexico. Someone needs to raise a stink - I think.
LE COMENTAMOS QUE EFECTIVAMENTE EXISTE UN LIMITE PARA VEHICULOS QUE PESEN MAS DE 7,716 LBS O 3.5 TONELADAS. POR LO TANTO, SUGERIMOS SE COMUNIQUE CON ADUANAS EN CASO DE QUE SU VEHICULO EXCEDA ESTE PESO.
