As the RV population ages, the energy level goes down. It takes a lot to drive from Canada or elsewhere all the way to Mexico. On our recent trip we ran across several former RV driveing couples who now rent at or near their favorite RV park. This included Laguna del Tule in Melaque/San Patricio, Cerritos in Mazatlan, East Cape in Los Barriles and Paa Mul near Playa del Carmen, etc. I can't quote you any prices, but many of the parks include some type of rental apartments or cabanas. People can fly in and still socialize with all their old buddies.
There are some RV owners that rent their RV in the parks in Florida, I suppose it could be the same in Mexico. I know one place that does it in Ixtapa but I don't know the price. In Florida it will be around 1500 to 2000 a month, they are not high end RV but OK.
I find it very hard to find something interesting on the internet, prices are all over the place. I saw a condo in Nuevo Valarta for $1700.00 (CA) a month on the web, probably a owner trying to rent his condo, it is part of Hotel Dreams Villamagna. Now, the catch, when you check for a booking at this hotel, they have rooms at more than $800.00 a day! I find it pretty hard to believe such a difference.
Flight from Montreal to Ixtapa is around $1000.00 for two people.
