Road conditions going North on 15/15D

I am also looking for the same info. I heard that the first 100 Km after the Sonora border heading North is bad , bad enough that there is supposed to be Green Angels there to help with the "flat tires and RV debree. Does any body have any first hand knowledge. We will have friends traveling that way in the next few days so will get a report from them. Has any body traveled the free road from Mazatlán to San Carlos as maybe an alternative route?????.
