Me thinks people who say carrying extra boat trailer springs is overkill, haven't had much long term experience with Salt Water used boat trailers.
Believe me spring failure is not uncommon with Salt Water launched boat trailers.
The springs aren't galvanized even though the trailer should be for Salt Water use.
I'd say the article writer is just being prudent or has experience most people don't.
