Steve: we'll be taking the camper off the truck occasionally, at least that's what we're expecting. Ideally, it'll sit on the truck all the time but there might be roads (to ruins) where the jungle might not allow us to take the camper there without a big risk for damages.
path1: I'm not sure about the answer to your question. I checked with 2 diesel mechanics and they didn't think it would be a problem to take the Dodge down south.
I found the following on a Dodge forum: "If you have a late model vehicle that requires ULSD and want to drive in Mexico, go ahead. The only part affected is the Cat Converter which has shown to self heal once ULSD is re-introduced.
Any 07/08 Dodge engine will run well on LSD fuel. The requirements Dodge, Chevy and Ford dealers place on stringent use of ULSD in late model trucks is imposed by EPA requirements and fines, not on driveability, or reliability issues."
