Hey Jorvango good luck! The one big suggestion That stuck in my mind of Brad Christs comments was beginning your search for a site early with plenty of day light to see where you are and asses security.
Sorry to see your thread get pulled out of the TC forum just because it is CA trip.....everyone knows TC'ers do the best Trip Reports :) .....but I guess it's for the greater good....regardless, since you started it there I saw it and will certainly follow. Maybe you'll be coming back when the Overland Expo is taking place in Flagstaff. It would be fun to see you there fresh with all that new experience!
