Are you talking in New York? Its basically built to interstate standards and is a nice enough road; should be no problem with an RV. As I recall, parts of it are pretty sparsely populated and fuel is sometimes a little bit scarse.
(On a slightly related tangent, I vividly remember one time I drove that section, about twenty years ago. I was going to get together with a friend in the NYC area for New Year's Day; unfortunately, my not new car had developed a broken thermostat, stuck open, and it was a bitterly cold spell that winter. I was barely able to keep the car interior much above freezing, even with a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator, and drove with my legs huddled under a sleeping bag.)
