- BracesExplorerDo this trip frequently and find it quicker and easier to go through Knoxville I-75 to I-40. My wife actually doesn't mind driving through Knoxville if I'm not feeling good. We pull a 35' fiver.
- southernskyExplorerWe've done it with a 40' fifth wheel a few times,
if going out Ashville way. Not bad and very doable. - jaycocamprsExplorerThere are 2 sections that are narrow 2 lane. The first section starts with 8 miles of not bad curves and is wide, this is along Parksville Lake. The next 9 miles is narrow and crooked, this is through the Ocoee gorge up to the White Water Center. The next 6 miles starts with a long 8% grade that is 3 lane then into Ducktown. It's 4 lane thru Andrews NC Then about 20 miles of 2 lane thru Nantahala. IMHO not as narrow or quite as Ocoee. From NC-28 to I-40 is 4 lane. It all has steep sections, but is quite doable. I have made many trips to Charlotte NC in the last year, I take US-74 from I-75 at Cleveland TN to I-40 in NC.
