- brooks379ExplorerAll those roads from Lubbock to Nebraska are pretty good roads. I go up to Amarillo and through Borger, TX to Perryton, TX and hit 83 north to Sublett, KS 56 east to Dodge. From Dodge to N. Platte take 50 west back to 83 North. It is all 2 lane but there's just not any 4 lanes where you're going. I have drove many, many miles on most all those roads in that part of the country.
- The_Mad_NorskyExplorerThere is just a darn neat little campground, right beside US 83, north of Wellington, Texas alongside the Salt Fork of the Red River.
It is within a section of US 83 that is four lane. Hard to miss, cross the river and turn left (going north bound).
AFAIK it is a county run facility, pay on the honor system sort of place. But reasonable charges, neat scenery, and a good overnight stop on your way.
I'd sure stay there again. - HeisenbergExplorer83 is a fine route all the way to Minot ND. From Lubbock ... I25 to Amarillo then 60 to 83 just south of Canadian. Fine roads but it misses that neat little park by Wellington.

I believe it's I27 from Lubbock to Amarillo if you're talking Interstates. - HeisenbergExplorerMy Bad. I live in Lubbock and 27 it is.
- TexasShadowExplorer IIwell, it's probably too close to home to use it, but if you take 60 NE (from Amarillo) to Canadian and pick up 83 there, there is another county rv park in town, just before you cross the Canadian River. Water, dump and elec available, shade trees and the county fairgrounds for walks. We've used it many times.
