Funny thing. My dad liked to tell the story of his US Army service in WW II.
Dad, a Norwegian speaking farm boy from North Dakota, was one of many selected for special service, as the original plan was to parachute these folks into Nazi occupied Norway to fight with the underground there.
So Norway, with its mountains, snow and glaciers, was the planned destination.
So in 1943 they sent Dad and the whole bunch to Yuma, Arizona to train. :S
I cannot think of anyplace in the US more dislike Norway than Yuma, Arizona and the desert nearby.
