You may have to trade in Artesia or maybe Hobbs to get to Alamorgodo.

Drive from Artesia to Cloudcroft is very scenic drive.

Drive from Cloudcroft to Alamogordo is were it drops ~4300' in elevation in 12 miles.

Good road and easy curves just downshift and use braking sparingly so as not to overheat them
