RV friendly diesel before the Keys

Can anyone tell me where the last truck stop or the last RV friendly fuel station is before entering the Florida Keys area. I will be taking I-75 to rte 27 then probably 997 to highway 1. My range is not very far, so I figure if I fill up before entering the Keys I should be fine until I disconnect.

  • There is a Pilot station on the corner of US41 and 997, easy in and out.

I always gas up at the Shell at the corner of the 1 and Palm Drive. I know there is diesel there, just not sure where the pump is located. If it's at the north side of the lot, it's an easy in off the 1 and out on Palm Drive back toward the 1.

There is a Hess a little further down the road, but it's on the opposite side of the road (the side coming out of the Keys) and could be a PITA to get out of because there is no light and 3 lanes of traffic to get through to get back on the road heading toward the Keys.

I little further down the road there is a huge RaceTrac on the right side of the road, but I've never filled there, so I can't comment on it.

RaceTrak was the one I was mentioning.

  • Toolguy- You will find a new fuel station on the right just before you head out into the Keys in Florida City. Tried to find it on google with no luck but it is a nice new facility with lots of turning room.
