RV Parks in need of a Plug!

For any of You Brave Travelers to Mexico ,wishing a safe haven ,where the water is pure and clean right out of the Tap. That has good 30 Amp Electricity, and numerous nearby Restaurants and Stores.
Look no further than Valle de Juarez/ Mazamitla.
There are Two excellent RV Parks located within a half mile of each other that can certainly fulfill Your needs!

The largest of them is Hacienda a Contreras .www.haciendacontreras.com...excellent value ,super clean with easy access to both Towns.

The name of the other park is Hacienda El Retiro. They have a Restaurant that serves up some yummy dishes!

Either park is strategically located between Guadalahara and Patzquaro,or the West Coast .

I highly recommend visiting and staying for a night or even a week and NO ! I do not have any financial interest in either location.
  • Unfortunately the web site is no longer in service. After we sold the place the new owners weren't going to use it as a campground, so we pulled the webpage. But now they like the idea. Maybe because Chema opened one up closer to town behind his restaurant. But the HC is looking great and the trees have really grown. I'm sure the new owner would love to see more RVers show up again. Chema is more than accommodating at his place, Hacienda del Retiro. And YES the water is great at both places, comes from wells over 200 feet deep. It has been tested and is almost as good as most bottled waters. Enjoy!
  • Love them, but they aren't particularly bus friendly. Some of us travel without a toad....

Most toadless people who visit can find rides with others or get a cab to come from town for very little money - cabs can always be found in town for a ride back - and there are buses but they are probably don't have a specific schedule that those in the RV park can find.
  • Mexico, clean water? Now that's an oxymoron!

There are many places in Mexico with clean water. You have to ask. We find clean water in our travels in Mexico often. But not everywhere. We are very familiar with the water at Hacienda Contreras as we have been there several times for periods of a week or more and we do drink the water with no problem. There are other places where we drink the water.

Last year I learned about UV systems which modern water treatment plants use instead of chlorine to sanitize water. I found a small 1gpm UV system online for a bit over $100 and installed it in our motorhome for our drinking water. We also have coconut charcoal filters .5 for taste and odor. Drinking water is not a problem.

Don't think I'd be drinking any of it! :B
  • Rob..the other park is run by Chema, Sal's cousin. He is open just down the road from Hacienda Contreras. We have friends that are staying there now. Not sure if he has a name for the park or not.
