Rv Parks with year around xpats

Thank you to qtla9111 ,JerBear and RamblinManGA for your kind words. I have been following this forum 12 years ago when we started travelling in Mexico and it does have a lot of good information. Chris and Jerry we look forward to spending some happy hours with you again. RamlinManGA Craig look forward to meet you one day. Jerry thanks for your e-mail back in October when we were back in Canada about the Columbia crossing at Laredo. Excellent crossing, no traffic and quick and great people. Chris I saw later you had also mentioned this crossing on the forum. We then went Monterrey, Sattilo and then Zacatacas where we overnighted in a hotel as we were travelling by car. The 45D through Zacatacas is a little torn up as they are rebuilding it thru the city then onto Aguascalentes and Guadalajara using the toll roads, good roads and mostly 110 klm per hr. As you near Guadalajara you then follow the airport sign which gets you to the Chapala highway by the airport. Thanks to someone on the Chapla forum who gave me this info. Then on to Jocotepec.

Don't blame you, you can't educate people who are limited in their travel experiences and knowledge of living in Mexico.

I try to leave the forum but it's hard when there is so much misinformation.

Not a defender of Mexico, it can stand on its own. People read this stuff (misinformation) and believe it.

I guess I am not quite finnished, we help to support an Rv park their employees, we eat at resturants buy groceries and oh yes can't forget the ceravas and tequila being enjoyed without snow or forty below.

As for my original request there has not been much response. But as for the last reply I was going to just forget about this forum. But I decided the readers should not be subjected to ill informed information If you enter Mexico on a a tourist visa you have 180 days for yourselve and your veheicle. If you have a Temporary Residencia whether it is 1,2,3 or 4 year permit your vehicle is the same. YOU DO NOT GO BACK EVERY 6 MONTHS.
As for the health system the IMSS is a government and employer insured hospital system which can deny ANYONE from using their hospitals.
President Fox initiated the Seguro Popular which is the universal medical system in Mexico and is avalible to everyone rich or poor and we pay a premium based on ability to pay.Which we certianly don't mind eventhough we the wife and I are gaood health it is good to have some back up ,back home we pay too. A very interesting story about the start of Saguro Popular our leaders should read it too.
As for the comment of being leaches on the Mexican system DUH
Rather then spending $2000.00 or more each way to go back to the land of ice and snow, I prefer to spend it here. We travel by car to various places stay in hotels eat in resturaunts by gas or travel in the coach.
We haverecently had our couch , j couch and captian chairs all recovered did I ask how much yes the price was great did i hagger not at all the price was great the work exceptional and Fernado and his family will get a good christmas bonus.
The Mexican people are good people , enough said.

Seguro Popular is NOT the Universal healthcare system. That is called IMSS. Seguro Popular is designed for Mexicans who are not employed and need health care. Although many Gringos behaved like vultures and joined the system it was never intended to cover foreigners. Canadians should not be a burden on a health care system that is struggling to provide care for it's needy citizens. You can drive your foreign car but it must be returned to the border before your TIP runs out (6 months). It can be seized.

We have our Temporary Residency cards which allows us to drive our Canadian plated vehicles. It also allows us to be on Seguro Popular the Mexican universal medicare system.

You will not find many expat Canadians in RV parks living year round . Most want to keep their Health insurance! There are also problems with Aduana and Immigration. Technically in order to live year round in Mexico you need a residente permit. This means you cannot drive a foreign plated car. You also cannot have a 10 year permit on your RV. Tourist permits are not for permanent residents.

El Manglar in Zihuatanejo has a permanent resident in one of their eleven spaces Been there for quite a few years.
