- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIThere are absolutely no concerns with traveling 'that far south'. There are many folks who actually live along the route you'll be driving. There are plenty of RV parks in Deming. It's a major RVer stop for a night. Have a good trip!
- notlostExploreri don't mean to hijack this post, but we are traveling from tucson to florida on i-10.
expecting to stop in deming this weekend. i'm a bit concerned about security and safety when traveling this far south...
any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you can make it all the way to Las Cruces, I-10 exit 140, there is a Walmart. Security will met you as you pull in and show you where to park. He comes by real often day and night.
Also, at the same exit there is a Cracker Barrel for breakfast the next morning.
MMMMMMMMM been in that Walmart a few times and no one ever met us and told where to park, but was only there mid day. - brooks379ExplorerI always stop at the Truck Stop of America....T/A off the Motel Blvd. exit in Las Cruses. Always plenty of extra room and your on the west side of everything when you roll out in the morning.

- NMDriverExplorerTexas Welcome center on east bound side at exit 0, you exit quite a ways before the exit just about when you are parallel to Camping World and drive the frontage road for a good ways. You will see the TX rest area across the freeway so at the exit overpass you use the U turn lane and head back on the opposite frontage road to Texas Welcome Center. Exit 0 has FlyJ, Loves, Camping World, Grocery stores, truck washes, etc. etc.
The NM rest area is available also but is not as nice as the Texas one.
BTW there is crime in the border land but if you are not related to a gang, you will not be bothered.
At the Vado exit 155 (about 10mi in NM) there is a RV park and National Truck Stop. Exit 140 is the WalMart, exit 139 is T&A/Pilot both in Las Cruces and there are several RV parks in a range of prices. Just west of LC at exit 132 is another Loves and another rest area at exit 135 but only on the east bound side. - JayBeaExplorerHere's the best deal:
Behind the Camping World is the former American RV Park, now becoming a KOA. The sites are all large, long, and 50 Amp and reasonably priced. The location is safe and reasonably quiet given being 1/4 mile from I-10. It's easy on and off, follow signs for the Camping World. - GraciesDaddyExplorerTry this: Open Heart G Farms, Anthony, NM.
2nd from the top. Looks to be quite easy off/on I-10. It's a horse motel w/RV E/W hookups and probably plenty secure. $20/night for the horse (indoor)... Doesn't say how much for a rig.
If you can hoof it (no pun intended), there are more horse motels/stables in Deming. If you're looking to save some coin, I'd go with the NM Rest Area. Most likely WELL patroled by local LEOs and/or State Troopers. Tell them you've been driving for 12 hours and really, REALLY need "a nap." Of course, you don't SAY that your nap might last about 8 hours, but they don't have to know that part. If you're decent with them, they'll usually cut a cowboy a break and just knock on your door and tell you to move rather than just tow you right outta there... With you IN the rig! I'd still say it's more secure than a truck stop lot... But some of their private security can be rather intense at times.
2ndary to this, RV2Go's Wal-Mart sounds like a winner, as well. - pigman1ExplorerMore than 1 stock trailer in the Demming WM. At least one was occupied but don't know about the others.
