- wanderingbobExplorer III think that the steel door on my RV is safer than the three doors on my home . I can defend my trailer much easier than my home . Don't worry , be happy ! We spend 100 nites a year in parking lots and have for many years and I have never been raped or pillaged !
- Gary_Explorer IIWest of OKC on I-40 at exit 136 is the Wal-Mart in Yukon, Oklahoma.
It is open 24 hrs and I would consider it safe. Exit on exit 136 and turn right and Wal-Mart is just North of I-40 and to the West of
Garth Brooks Blvd. EASY ON EASY OFF. Good Luck - littlemoExplorer

West Memphis is very not safe. Keep moving is my advice.
X2 - spacedoutbobExplorerI usually park for the night anywhere I feel safe, if I have any strange feelings about the area I'm in, I look for another spot. Sometimes, I will scout a place to stop for the night, but generally I just park and go to sleep.
Bob - tragusa3ExplorerThanks so much. Will skip that one.

- tragusa3ExplorerAnyone have a suggestion for a WM or Flying J that they've used along I40. I need one just west of Memphis and another just west of Oklahoma City.
I can look them up, but would appreciate first hand experience. - RTriderExplorerI stay in Walmarts all the time and never had the slightest issue. However I do try and park in a lighted area and usually with other RV'ers.
For secuiry I have bear spray if I really need something, however the best idea for trailer/fitth wheel combo's is to keep your tow vehicle keys handy and press the "painic" button on the key fob if you need to scare someone off. Also have the phone ready and like another poster's idea of writing down where you are for 911 calls.
I usually have my motorcycle in the back of the pickup and it has an alarm on it with a flashing light so that should also warn would be thieves off. - RTriderExplorerI stay in Walmarts all the time and never had the slightest issue. Like casinos, WMs, Sams the best, but have stayed in truck stops and rest areas if nothing else available when we want to stop.
We always plan ahead for all stops except a couple of times for really rotten weather.
Important: Keep the key to your tow vehicle or toad by your bed. If you feel threatened, punch the alarm on your key ring. You will annoy people and attract a lot of attention.
