San Felipe to San Quintin in 2016
We are planning our very first excursion into Baja next year, January-February 2016. We are not taking our RV because we pull it with a semi. We do not want to take our HDT into Mexico, so we are driving.
We would really like to rent a casita, apartment or studio so we can save some money cooking our own meals. There will only be 2 of us plus the dog. A cursory search on google for rentals in San Felipe boggles the mind. The cheapest rental I saw was $100 a night!
I realize I'm asking this on an RV forum but I'm hoping some of you who are familiar with San Felipe might be able to point me in the right direction. How can we find something to rent that won't break the bank? Are there rental agents who might have more affordable options? How do we find them?
From San Felipe we will go over to the Pacific side and want to stay a month in San Quintin. A google search doesn't bring up any rentals there. Has anyone been there who might be able to recommend a contact or rental agent who could help us find something?
Also, what's the best way to get from San Felipe to San Quintin? It looks like the only road is the one that takes you all the way back up to Ensenada.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
