Santa Rosa NM to Carrizozo NM Hwy54
Heading to Ruidoso with 5th wheel in signature in a couple of weeks. Is 54 a reasonably good highway for towing? I realize there are not a lot of options but I have never gotten bad route advice here...

Make sure you fuel before going down the road. We were traveling and on the CB a trucker with a single tank asked about fuel. Since it was later in day most of the small tows close up. Anyhow we talked till we got to the I40 area and he got off to fuel up. Its been a couple of years since we used the road but it is a good break from the interstate and keeps ya out of Abq. although almagordo can be a pain.
