Santa Rosa NM to Carrizozo NM Hwy54
Heading to Ruidoso with 5th wheel in signature in a couple of weeks. Is 54 a reasonably good highway for towing? I realize there are not a lot of options but I have never gotten bad route advice here...

Don't go from Carrizozo to Alamogordo !!!!!! 54 to 380 east to 37 south to 48 south to downtown Ruidoso. 37 is a good road you will pull one hill out of Nogal but 100 rv's pull it every day and one pull at Angus hill a few miles before Ruidoso if a guy can't handle either one of them he needs to stay home. Plenty of diesel fuel stops between Santa Rosa and Ruidoso but you're only talking 220 miles fill it up in SR and enjoy the ride.
