SD & ND travel just after Sturgis rally
I have been planning to leave North Platte, Neb. on August 10 and head to near Duluth, Minn. I would be on the road with our 5th-wheel for about 5 days (August 10 - thru 14). The Sturgis motorcycle rally is August 3 - 9.
My route is (was?) to be US-83 north to near Bismark, ND and then go east on routes I-94, US-10, and state roads to the Duluth area. This will be my first time for these roads.
I have heard that the Sturgis rally is a HUGE one. If so, maybe I should change my plans and go due East from North Platte to Des Moines area and then head north? That route might have me traveling alongside fewer mortocycles?
I would prefer my original route, but I dunno if I want to be caught up in swarms of motorcycles.
Any thoughts?
