Dan,
Sorry I can't help you with your question, but here are a few thoughts from our trip a couple years ago.
- I really like the book "Camp Free in B.C." by Kathy Copeland. She and her husband have several other books that you may find helpful as well. Also, Cathy is very receptive to discussing trip plans. You can contact her via her web site.
- Next time we go up there, we are going to bring a saw. Likely my smaller chain saw, but even a bow saw would be handy. Reason???? We did a lot of driving on old logging/mining roads up to trail heads and had more than one occasion that fallen trees blocked our path. Especially unpleasant when returning from a hike. Fortunately, I was able to "tug and drag" them far enough out of my way....but next time, I will have a better solution.
- I suspect you are familiar with the Map Books. But have you picked up one of their micro SD cards yet? Very handy. I was constantly transferring between the vehicle GPS and my hand held GPS.
That's all. Hope you make it up there this year. We are still on the fence about going back this year.
Steve
