On one crossing on a trip to Alaska (coming from Texas), I was asked if I had guns and I said "No".
The Officer then proclaimed, "I see you have Texas plates and I thought everyone in Texas had guns."
My response: "I only live in Texas, I'm from Alaska and that's where I'm going."
His response was "have a nice trip."
On another crossing I was asked about guns, same answer. Then I was asked if I owned guns and my response was, "Yes, I own a BB rifle and it's at home in the attic."
His response was "have a nice trip."
I've noticed though that the US and Canadian Border Agents are sharing a LOT of information and I suspected the question about gun ownership was somehow going to end up in the hands of some US Government agency.
