Dish customer question

Our Dish service for both our RV and our upstate NY cottage are month-to-month pay-as-you-go. We change locals as often as daily, and on at least one occasion, changed it twice in one day with no hassles from Dish. We use the chat service and pre-written script that Bill mentioned, and the change nearly always goes quite smoothly. Once in a great while the CSR fails to flag our program guide for the update, but a second 1-2 minute chat has always fixed that. They've also changed our billing address on occasion along with our service address, but that's also easily fixed online with our MyDish.com account.

It works great on the road AS LONG AS you have a very large cellular data plan!! You either have to pay to play (satellite) or pay to play (very expensive cellular). It's all about choices and not all choices work for all people.

The gigs do add up. I just watch my usage meter.

Is this for one account? I thought that DTV switched the account, hence all receivers, but I only have one receiver.

In fact wasn't there discussion of someone with multiple receivers on a single account loaned to relatives being a no no? Maybe multiple locations OK with Dish?

OP Like others we change only the DTV service address and we have one receiver that is moved from the house to RV.

Interesting comments about using a CG site number to avoid conflicts which I've never done. DTV "knows" I'm in a RV and has never questioned the address.

We have had Dish since the mid 90's at home and when we full timed. We now take our dish receiver with us on the road. That gives us all the pre recorded shows and timers we normally have as well. Changing the service area is as mentioned a call or chat away, no limits. The only issue is to remind the person making the change to send you a "bump" to update the receiver, which must be on and hooked up to the proper satellite dish. When returning to home, same process. Make sure you specify service address only, not billing address.

That is correct. I get Denver locals in Moab and Santa Fe. In some cases when you get to the fringe areas, the HD will drop and the receiver will switch to the SD signal.

When changing the service address, I use the and have a pre scripted statement written in Word where I change the service address. As stated by others, the locals usually cover a wide area. When moving around AZ in the winter, I leave the service address at the first park stayed at. I simply add a letter to the site number such as 7A to not conflict with someone coming in after me.

There really is no RV plan. There is a pay-as-you-go plan but this can be used by anyone anywhere and is also not an RV plan.
You will be able to change your Service Address (make that clear) and not billing address as often as necessary. Using the Dish Chat function is best and you can have a pre-written script that describes what you want to do and the new address you want to use. It should be a full address including zip code. If it's an RV park then add a unit # as there are often multiple users at that location.
If you are going to be in a location for only a short period of time it might be easier to watch the Network programming using your OTA antenna and everything else via satellite.
