Southeast MO roads and campgrounds

Question

Been visiting lots of family in MO.  Need to go to Birds Point (near Charleston) from Osage Beach. We can take our time. Any suggestions for which road, and any pretty campgrounds along the way. Traveling in our 35' fifth wheel.

Don't know about the route, but if you haven't been to Sam A Baker State Park in Patterson, MO, it's worth a stop. Note: limited cell service. Have to drive a couple of miles to make calls. They do have a pay phone and our Wilson Sleek booster worked great.  US 60 and US63 are good roads.

Hawn State Park, Winegarden, MO----should work nicely.

I would take 8 &gt; 64 &gt; 72 hit I55 just after Jackson.

Boomland on I-57 in Charleston has camper hookups.I don't know about their rates.
